C C Process (InDesign)

15/10/2015 - Process and Production

Reflective writing - First time I have used InDesign and my first thoughts were that it looked and felt like Photoshop which I'm familiar with.

The task I was given was to re-create four posters. I managed to create two which I think looks as close to the examples as possible which I am proud of since it was my first time even though I could have finished the second example.
What could have been better if I finished the other two examples which were harder to re-create but it would have told me if I was getting the hang of InDesign.
For the blue poster, I used the transparent feature by uploading the same actual poster onto my page, make it transparent so that I could go over it and make it look exactly like the original one.

I thought the posters were quite simple to produce because all it was, it was shapes which I easily produced using the shape tool and filling in the shapes with what colour I needed, sometimes it was all about copying and pasting the shape like I did for the second poster and placing them where I needed them.

For the second one, I used grids to help me place the shapes, it showed me the exact spot of where the shapes of the original poster were placed so I just transferred that knowledge onto my one.

I have learned to use the basics of InDesign including shapes, gradient and type so I feel confident enough to design a poster that was easy enough to create from what I have learned.
I learned about grids and how to use them to place shapes to where I want them.
I could apply this in the future when I eventually design a poster and knowing the basics, I would be able to use the basics to help me develop my skills further on InDesign.

What I have learned -
RGB - Digital, Web
CMYK - Print
Spot - Offset Print
Pantone - Colour Gamut (Colour consistent)
