1/10/2015 - Process and Production
My task today was to visit the Market and Piazza, Gothic Quarter and the new street shopping area to create a series of studies (minimum of 4) of the place around me. I had to include people/place, type in context, skylines and architectural themes into my studies.
This is what I have produced.
Materials used -
Charcoal
Oil pastel
Pencil
Fineliner
Paper
Cardboard
Tracing paper
What I thought did not work - I don't think using fineliner over pastel worked because any drawings I drew did not show and actually damaged the tip of the fineliner.
I could solve this problem by using the fineliner first then the pastel.
What I thought worked - I thought the use of charcoal and oil pastel on cardboard worked best because I drew a part of a building and I just think the use of cardboard instead of paper for that specific drawing makes the piece look more of a building because of the feel and look of the cardboard i.e colour and structure. I was able to emphasize some parts that were darker than others with the charcoal.
